Additional Sleep Challenges

Sleep-challenges Both ADD and ADHD are known disruptor’s of sleep architecture. Inattentive ADD is evidenced by under activity in a someone’s central nervous system (CNS). A person with inattentive ADD will always feel fatigued and unrested. They will also have poor organizational skills and will seem aloof or spaced-out most of the time. Their nighttime sleep never seems like enough and daytime naps are always needed.

Pharmaceutical firms sold $ 4.5 billion worth of sleep mediations to us in 2009, while the number of chronically sleep deprived in this country now tops 70 million and continues to climb.

Short of obstructive sleep apnea and major depression, most sleep problems fall under one of four categories: The first being what we call having an “over-active” central nervous system, or CNS. Over-active types will often have issues with “busy brain” when trying to fall asleep. They toss and turn a great deal and will wake up multiple times during the night. Feeling like they’ve been just hit by a bus is a common, daily occurrence.
